My eighth studio assignment of the subject RUS104 - (Re)Visited

    a  Project 8B: Environment & Spatial Analysis  b

We are required to analyse the Batu Feringghi area with all its existing buildings and surrounding.

In our layout plan, we have shown clearly the traffic and circulations which include both vehicular and pedestrian link, noise and other pollution, vegetation and buffer zone using different symbols and colours.

All the meaning of the symbols we have used in our layout plan are clearly shown in the legend.

After identifying the type of buildings along the Batu Feringghi Beach and Main Road, we colour the land plot according to specific colours.

Sketches of interesting institutional buildings and commercial buildings.

Sketches of leisure and recreational buildings.

Sketches of reserved area and residential buildings.

Additional photos to show interesting buildings and a short paragraph to briefly introduce the vegetation found around Batu Feringghi area.

A short paragraph explaning why our group have chosen No.3 land plot as the suitable site for locating 'Batu Feringghi Information Center' based on the site analysis we have done.

This is the finishing work. The photos and sketches are arranged around the layout plan and each picture is numbered accordingly to show the position.

From this project, I have learned to identify the type of buildings by analyzing the function of the building through the activities that are carried out in the building.I also  gained knowledge by carrying out research on the types of vegetation that are found at Batu Feringghi area. By analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of a certain place, I am able to make decision on choosing a suitable site for a construction project to be done.
